Floyd Mayweather vs Victor Ortiz

Floyd Mayweather, Jr. will be back in action after having been gone in the center stage for a long time. His last bout was up against Shane Mosley, more than a year ago, where he won the match with a unanimous decision. But on his comeback fight, he will be meeting up against a younger and stronger foe, Victor Ortiz. He once said that he is not afraid to be facing up against the 24-year old boxer and that Mayweather will KO Victor Ortiz. The most awaited fight will be held on the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada on September 17, 2011. Ortiz will be defending his WBC Welterweight world title.

And to promote his upcoming bout, both Mayweather and Ortiz will be featured on the latest instalment of the award winning HBO series 24/7. The reality TV show will give a backstage pass to the drama of the real life stories of what the fighters will have to go through right before they go head to head on the ring. It will take viewers on what these two boxers will do on their training and also on their drama on their households. Mayweather will be staying on Las Vegas, while Ortiz will be training on his hometown in Kansas. It will be the fifth time that Mayweather will be seen on the show, while this the first time that Ortiz will make an appearance. It will be aired on HBO and will also be seen for the first time on CNN. The show will run for four episodes and had started airing a few weeks ago.

And on its third episode, Mayweather let lose some of his crazy antics about Ortiz as well as Oscar de la Hoya, whom he has defeated back in 2007 via a split decision. The ever-irrepressible Mayweather has talked about the sexuality of both Ortiz and De La Hoya and did not hold back on sharing about his thoughts on them. He lashed out first on Ortiz, who previously commented that he had no respect for Mayweather, and said, “Motherf***er [Ortiz] had a man rubbing on him, a man massaging him. He said he wants a strong black man to massage him. [He then mocks Ortiz]~ ‘give me the strongest black man that you have to massage me.’ I’ll show what my massage therapist that works for our company… bad. Everything we do is… bad. If I take this shit right now, it’s going to be bad.”

He then takes on his constant rant against boxing superstar De La Hoya. He said on the television series, “De La Hoya [is] a hoe, flatout. De La Hoya is gay and a hoe. Ortiz [is] a hoe, too. He let a man massage him and the other is wearing a fishnet – and then he’s going to talk about that he looks he’s a God. Are you f***ing serious? What the f**** is going on? Tell me what is really going on.”A few years ago, a humiliating photo of De La Hoya surfaced where in he was seen doing drag and wearing a fishnet stocking. He then admitted that it was authentic and that picture was taken on a wild drunken night.

But Mayweather is cut out clean himself. He is now acing several charges filed against him. His former girlfriend filed him domestic violence charges. Josie Harris filed felony charges, coercion, robbery, and domestic battery cases. If he will be found guilty by the court, Mayweather will be facing 34 years in prison. Meanwhile, Manny Pacquiao also filed libel charges against him. Mayweather accused the current pound for pound boxer of using performance enhancing drugs on his previous games after Pacquiao did not agree with the Olympic style drug testing on their planned fight. But negotiations soon fell through and Mayweather also lashed out against Pacquiao. And now, it is still unsure whether the two boxing legends will be fighting inside the ring, and not just on court. But Mayweather said that he is all set and ready for Ortiz and he is pushing through despite these setbacks.

Catch another episode of 24/7 this weekend to see on who will Mayweather thrash on the small screen. The hit series is arguably the most successful reality sports how. It has received multiple awards on Emmy since its inception in 2007. It is hosted by Tony winner Liev Schreiber.
