JAM of JAMICH get Bashed on Social Media

Netizens bashed YouTube sensation Jamich because of a Facebook status posted last September 10 regarding Jam’s excitement over the upcoming market release of the iPhone 6 Plus, the largest in Apple’s phone series.  The status coincided with Apple’s media event.
Jam Sebastian has stage 4 lung cancer; his girlfriend Mich Liggayu has stayed by his side to help him weather the ordeal.  Together, they form the popular real and reel love team called Jamich, which became popular on YouTube.
A lot of people were angry over the post on their FB page, mostly because the pair had actively asked for donations from fans to help pay for Jam’s cancer treatment, reportsThe Daily Pedia. -->

Loyal iPhone fan
What irked a lot of people is that he admits to being a loyal iPhone fan and that he doesn’t like Samsung yet they had previously asked for donations from their fans.  Many of those who commented on that particular status said he should have kept his excitement to himself out of respect for those who had sent donations for his treatment.
According to The PH News, many donors felt cheated because they tried to share as much money as they can, some even foregoing purchases of expensive gadgets like iPhones or high-end Samsung phones just so they could spare him some money, yet here he goes bragging about being a loyal fan of the expensive Apple brand.
There are some people who sided with Jamich, saying he deserves to be happy in the days he has left on Earth.  So, they believe he is allowed to buy as many iPhones as he wants to buy, just as long as he keeps quiet about it and stop asking people for donations.

Mommy to the rescue
With the infamous status gaining more than a thousand comments, most of which are bashing Jamich, Jam’s mother decided to step in, trying as best as she could to stave off negative comments and to rescue her son’s reputation, reports The Daily Pedia.

Maricar Fernando Sebastian told bashers that Jam is simply excited over the iPhone 6 Plus release because they will receive it free from Globe [Telecom], Jamich’s sponsor.
There was, however, no indication whatsoever in Jam’s post that he was going to receive one from Globe.  In fact, he was insinuating that he would have to save money so he can buy one [“iPon para sa iPhone” (save money for an iPhone)].
